Iskra Lawrence is starting a body positivity class and sign us up please
Iskra Lawrence is seriously the queen of body positivity. And now she’s taking it one step further. She is now teaching a body positivity class for young girls in NYC!
The British model is constantly taking down body shamers in the most sincere and productive ways ever. On top of that, she has always been incredibly vocal about her own journey to feeling comfortable in her own skin. As we know, this can be difficult while working in the incredibly tough fashion industry!
We seriously cannot think of a better and more social media savvy role model for young women, and we’re so excited to learn more about Iskra’s body positivity class.

According to the Independent, Iskra’s class aims to promote healthy social media habits, exercise for health (not for weight loss), and eating healthy food for nourishment (again, not for weight loss). She said:
“I believe that how we educate this is just telling people that there is no such thing as perfect. There is no one type of beauty and that it’s ok to be you. That’s why I don’t retouch on social media because I want people to see that I can have rolls or cellulite, but they don’t define me. It doesn’t make me any less beautiful because I’m not flawless. It’s really about educating young people that it’s ok not to be perfect and they are good enough just as themselves.”

These lessons make perfect sense coming from Iskra. She has had to contend with mean comments from strangers on social media and the harsh standards of the modeling industry ever since she started modeling as a teenager. Now that she is older, she reps body positive brands and encourages everyone to learn to love their bodies.
