Update Your iPhone Software ASAP to Avoid This Hacker Loophole

From Good Housekeeping

You definitely shouldn't sit out the new iPhone software update because, in addition to having some cool new features for the iPhone 7 Plus, it could protect you from hackers, according to Select All.

When you go to update your phone's software, there's typically a list of the new features included and bugs fixed in the new version. A security researcher took the time to read through the fine print and noticed one super-scary one that's worth updating for:

Translation: Just looking at a dangerous JPEG photo could make your phone susceptible to hackers unless you update - yikes! You should never ignore a software update, whether it's on your computer, smartphone, or smart coffee maker, because it's basically the company telling you, "Hey, a bunch of hackers have figured out a way to get into your device unless you update your device."

If you haven't received a notification to update, just go to Settings > General > Software Update. It'll tell you if you're software is up to date or if you need to download and install the latest version.
