Inside a Beautiful Lowcountry Home That Isn't Afraid to Embrace Dark Colors

From Country Living

Every now and then, we spot a house so beautiful, it instantly puts us in a better mood. This lowcountry, cottage-style home in Bluffton, South Carolina, fits perfectly into that category.

From the moment we spotted the porch of this home, we knew it was special. But trust us, you're going to want to tear your eyes away for long enough to peek inside.

A new build by Brighton Builders, this stunner boasts shiplap (!) wood paneled walls, rich hardwood floors, and beamed ceilings. The covered screen porch looks like it was designed for sipping sweet tea on a hot summer day and roasting marshmallows over the fireplace at night. A second covered porch and an outdoor kitchen (not pictured) also make this home perfect for someone who prioritizes outdoor living space.

But what really gets us about this space is its unique color palette. Instead of solely relying on white paint, the same navy details prevalent on the home's exterior are also continued throughout the inside, from the kitchen island and subway tile to the barn door in the living room. The contrast of stark white with darker finishings and rich wood is so simple, but so beautiful.
