Here’s One Way to Deal With an Airline Losing Your Wedding Suit

The idea of losing your luggage on a trip is an obviously uncomfortable one for most of us. For it to happen on your way to a destination wedding takes troublesome to another level. A user on the popular community website Reddit recently shared a picture that sparked plenty of commiserating and commentary around this very topic.

The Reddit user Zebidee posted the cheeky photo with a brief but telling comment, “If you want to wind up in the same country as your wedding outfits, don’t fly Delta Airlines.”

Pictured in the image are the unnamed bride and groom, revealing how the groom resorted to wearing a T-shirt with the handwritten message, “This Wedding Suit Courtesy of Delta Airlines.” The two appear to be making do with the unfortunate incident the best way possible, with a sense of humor.

Comments on the post quickly diverted into others sharing horror stories of losing luggage themselves and the general perception that air travel is one of the worst customer experiences in the world. One commenter succinctly summarized the theme: “As a business traveler who flies weekly, I’ve discovered that the worst airline in the world is whichever one you’re flying on.”

An additional storyline in the comment section ended up giving the groom some choice words for not properly planning for unforeseen circumstances. “I mean, it sucks,” wrote one commenter. “But if I were traveling to my wedding and had to have a certain outfit, I would either carry it on with me or ship it ahead of me.”

“Just did this,” chimed in another. “Was a bridesmaid traveling across country, it all fit in a carry on. Not sure why anyone wouldn’t put something that important in a carry on.”

Regardless of whether the groom or Delta was ultimately at fault, the photo and ensuing discussion are certainly a good reminder that if life is about the journey, not the destination, then it seems how you get there is as important as anything else.
