Here's What Happened When 6 Girls Tried Kylie Jenner's New Posie Gloss AND Matte Lipstick

From Seventeen

Posie K is without a doubt one of Kylie Jenner's best lipstick colors to date. Out of her entire lip kit collection, nothing flatters a wide range of skin tones quite like the dusty mauve shade. So naturally, when Kylie announced that her very first non-skin colored lip glosses would include Posie, I clicked "Add to Cart" as fast as my fine motor skills would allow.

Since Kylie already did this shade in a matte, I wondered if the gloss would be just as good (I love the Posie lipstick). Would it be sticky? How long will it last on your lips? Is the color as pigmented as the matte lipsticks? I needed to get some opinions, so I grabbed my co-workers and we tried them both.

Here's what happened.

Amie

Gloss: "The tube itself represents the color as a very light pink hue. The brush applicator was easy to use and created an even coat with one swipe. The gloss formula itself has a warm aroma, a very smooth consistency and left my lips feeling really moisturized post-application. I could definitely see this becoming an every day shade with a little help of a dark brown liner."

Matte: "The elf foot applicator is a little hard to use for us non-makeup geeks. This particular shade is a little too light against my skin tone but may look better with a liner. It took three applications to get an even coat which makes me think I would run through this product really fast. There is something about this formula that left my lips begging for Chapstick once it dried."

Carolyn

Gloss: "The gloss is cute, but a little too pink for me. I feel like I could get this for $5 at a drugstore so I'm not going to waste my money. I think Kylie should stick with mattes."

Matte: "I LOVE the matte lipstick. It's literally the color that I've been looking for. However, in true Kylie Lip Kit fashion, it's extremely drying, which is a bummer. I'm still going to rock it all day, though."

Noelle

Gloss: "The gloss was nice, but not the same color as the matte version at all. It's a little bit of a brighter pink. I'm also not crazy about glossy lips in the first place. It wore really nicely on though."

Matte: "When it comes to Posie K, I definitely liked the matte version better. While it's a *little* drying, the color is a soft, pigmented pink I really like."

Hannah

Gloss: "The color was a perfect match for me - the exact shade of my real lips, but just a little bit brighter. I liked the texture, too. It's not goopy, like some glosses can be. But because I'm not a huge fan of the dessert-like scent and I already have a million similar shades of glosses (I feel like every girl who lived through the mid-2000s has at least a couple tubes like this in the bottom of her makeup bag), I wouldn't buy it."

Matte: "I am OBSESSED with this. It's my ideal everyday shade when I don't want to go full-glam with a red lip. I've been afraid of trying matte lipstick for awhile because I'm a sucker for creamy, satin finishes and I know that matte can be drying, but this is comfortable to wear. And I swear this makes my lips look bigger. I literally this 10 seconds after testing it out."

Ariel

Gloss: The gloss version of it is super pretty. I would definitely rock it because the consistency is perfect and the color is spot on. My biggest complaint is that the applicator is not the best. It makes it difficult to apply when gloss should be easy and quick.

Matte: Kylie's matte Posie K is definitely one of my favorite lipsticks. I love everything about it – the color, the consistency, and that it's long-lasting.

Kelsey

Gloss: On my lips, the Posie gloss looks much redder than the lipstick. I definitely like the ashy rose color of the matte better. I'm not a fan of lip gloss in general, but the formula is really nice. I've heard people say Kylie's glosses "aren't sticky," but I didn't believe them until I tried it myself. Obviously, my hair still gets stuck to my face when the wind blows, but apart from that it isn't as gross-feeling as other glosses.

Matte: I 100 percent like the matte better, since it lasted all day and the gloss only lasts until my next meal (I'm too lazy for that). The color is pretty, but it just doesn't do much for me. I'm used to wearing orange, black, and purple lipstick so something this tame just made me feel like I was rocking a nude.
