According to her brother Carlos, Jessica Rodriguez, 25, proposed to her longtime girlfriend Chelsea on December 17 at the Art Institute of Chicago because the couple has always loved visiting art museums together. Carlos tweeted a picture of the pair mid-proposal and as if that weren’t happy enough, he captured a random woman in the background of the shot, happy-panicking over what she was witnessing.
“The sweet woman had such a beautiful reaction. It’s absolutely amazing to see such love coming from a bystander,” Carlos told BuzzFeed. His tweet has almost 100,000 retweets and 300,000 likes so far: “I am just so happy that a positive LGBT photo went viral. It’s not every day something like this has such [a] positive reaction to the general public.”
Rodriguez said she and her now-fiancé didn’t notice the woman during the proposal, but explained “Whoever she is, we are so thankful of her pure reaction. She made our moment even more special!”
The webz, of course, noticed the old lady immediately, and had a whole lot of “same” to contribute:
