Gwen Stefani invited a bullied fan onstage and the touching moment will make you cry your eyes out

In the midst of rocking the crowd during her West Palm Beach, Florida concert last Wednesday, Gwen Stefani paused her set to invited a bullied fan onstage. A video that the “Make Me Like You” singer shared on her Instagram shows someone from the audience handing Stefani a poster, which she proceeded to read aloud.

“My son was bullied from first to fifth grade,” Stefani read. “He would come home every day upset, but he’d go to his room, listen to your music, and smile.”

Immediately, the singer beckoned the young fan (who was understandably crying his eyes out) on stage, playfully demanding him to “Get up here right now!” The crowd showed him some love as Stefani lifted his arms up and gave him a huge mama bear embrace, at which point, we kind of lost it.

Not only did the young fan hit the jackpot by joining Stefani on stage, he walked away with the highly coveted selfie with a celebrity, which the singer also shared on her account.

OK, so this super sweet gesture just snatched our beating hearts right out of our chests. Sadly, this kid’s experiences of dealing with bullies resonate with far too many people (both children and adults, alike), but we will continue to applaud celebs who publicly condemn bullying like Stefani, Prince William, Jennifer Aniston, and Ashley Graham, among many others.

On behalf of the fan and anyone who’s dealt with bullying, we thank you Gwen! We honestly couldn’t think of a more thoughtful way to show love and compassion to someone who really needs and deserves it.
