Guillaume Henry Confirmed to Go to Nina Ricci

As predicted following the exit of Peter Copping late last month, it was announced today that Guillaume Henry will take over the reins as creative director of Nina Ricci. This is no surprise for industry types, as the 35-year-old Frenchman showed his final collection as the Artistic Director of Carven—based on the idea on speed and Forumula 1, ie racing to the finish line perhaps?—during Paris Fashion Week. Prior to joining Carven in 2009, Henry held positions at Givenchy and Paule Ka.

“We are welcoming Guillaume Henry to Nina Ricci with tremendous delight and great ambitions for the brand,” said Ralph Toledano, president of parent company Puig Fashion Division in a statement. “In addition to being an outstanding talent, Guillaume has the characteristics of a major designer: artistic vision, intuition, intelligence, charisma, curiosity, and a remarkable ability to attract and gather the very best.”

Of course there is one move left in this game of musical chairs, and that is the rumored appointment of Peter Copping to Oscar de la Renta.
