There’s this phenomenon that when women and men couple up, they soon start dressing like one another. Jennifer Aniston’s style went from “girl next door” to biker chick during her transition from Brad Pitt to Justin Theroux; the Beckhams always give off similar vibes in athleisure or black tie; Kate Moss went grunge for Johnny Depp; and Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears infamously walked a red carpet in coordinating Canadian tuxedos. So following a few weeks of are-they or aren’t-they Internet chatter, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik confirmed their coupling in the most sartorial way possible: dressing in basically the same thing on date night.
Shortly after breaking things off with Joe Jonas, another rocker (he’s fronting DNCE while the Jonas Brothers are on an indefinite hiatus), the 20-year-old model was pictured leaving The Nice Guy in West Hollywood holding hands with the former One Directioner. While he wore gray-washed jeans with a Mona Lisa patch, a long-sleeved Henley tee, and black boots with his gray hair, she was basically in the girl version in similar wash denim, a velour crop top, leather moto jacket, black booties, and a choker.
So what will the Victoria’s Secret model wear next? Maybe a silk Louis Vuitton bomber jacket? Or what about a Saint Laurent slip. She might even dye her hair to match her beau’s senior citizen-inspired look.
