Oprah Winfrey‘s BFF, Gayle King, has won the Internet by cutting up a thong and wearing it as a camisole.

The “CBS This Morning” co-host appeared on camera Friday wearing a low-cut pink dress and what appeared to be a purple lace camisole. But as King revealed on her Instagram page, the cami — surprise! — was actually a thong.

“Fashion tip! Thong underwear which I hate can be used as a cami — just cut out the crotch! @therealadamsays approves!! Swipe right to see creative use of panties,” she wrote to her 300K followers (Adam Glassman is the creative director of O magazine, where King is editor-at-large).

Instagram comments ranged from “TMI” to “You go girl!” and “Whose panties are those if you don’t like wearing them?”

King has made notable fashion choices in the past — in December, Winfrey sent a note to King that read, “Plz tell Gayle I’m on treadmill & it’s hard to focus w/the circus around your neck,” after King wore a large, chunky necklace on air.

King posted a photo of the message and her look on Instagram, writing of Oprah’s comment: “I think she’s wrong. Thoughts?” Fans were divided, calling the necklace both “lovely” and “hideous.”

And in January, King wore a mustard-yellow-and-white dress in honor of the five-year anniversary of “CBS This Morning,” a yearly tradition since she joined the show in 2012.

King is reportedly style conscious, arriving to work at 5:30 a.m. to select her color scheme for the day. “Since Gayle is so colorful and she likes to wear a lot of jewelry, we as a news-oriented program sometimes have to ask her to tone it down…,” a source told Fashionista in 2015. King also has a stylist who plans her outfits three weeks ahead.

Whether or not you approve of King’s DIY look, she clearly has a backup career in fashion.
