Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner Weighs In on Sansa and Jon Snow's Relationship and Who She Wants on the Iron Throne

Viewers may have to wait until summer 2017 to get their Season 7 Game of Thrones fix, but fans at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend got a bit of intel for the next set of episodes, thanks to a GoT panel featuring some of the show's biggest stars. Sophie Turner, who plays newfound heroine Sansa Stark, had a few thoughts to share on Jon Snow's recent coronation as King in the North.

"I'm not sure Sansa believes Jon is capable of running Winterfell in the North," she bantered about her on-screen half-brother (or cousin, rather). "He doesn't have the intellect, the knowledge, the experience that she has. I concur," she added.

When asked about whether a romance could spark between Sansa and Jon, she showed mixed feelings. "Let's get the party started," she started off jokingly, but she soon took an opposing stance.

"Jon likes redheads, he does," Turner said, referencing the onscreen-turned-real-life relationship between Kit Harington and Rose Leslie (a.k.a. Jon Snow and Ygritte the Wildling). "But Jon and Sansa grew up together; they have that sibling rivalry. I swear to God, Dave and Dan, if you make anything happen like that, I will kill you!" she said to the GoT showrunners, who were at the panel.

Though Jon seems to be the fan favorite contender for the Iron Throne (along with Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen and Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister), Turner is rooting for an unlikely ruler for the Seven Kingdoms: Petyr Baelish.

"I think I want Littlefinger on the throne," the actress said of Sansa's mischievous suitor. The crowd and booed and laughed at her pick, but she explained her reasoning: "I do! I just think it'd be fun. It'd be quirky and sadistic. We like that kind of thing. Come on, we all watch Game of Thrones."

The actress had a point. The Game of Thrones writers have a penchant for maniacal plot twists and, although the sixth season ended on a very fulfilling note, it would be amiss to assume the rest of the series is smooth sailing from there.
