Famous Astrologer Dies After Writing a Horoscope for His Sign Saying "Life Is Short"

From Cosmopolitan

On Monday, the Daily Mail's long-time astrologer Jonathan Cainer died of a suspected heart attack in his home. Cainer was the newspaper's astrologer from 1992 to 2000, and then again from 2004 onward. His column was read by millions and beloved by just as many - but before Cainer passed away, he left a final message to family, friends, and fans alike in his final horoscopes for his sign, Sagittarius.

On his own website, he wrote:

'Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend...' So sang The Beatles in We Can Work It Out. Not that this stopped any of them from fussing or fighting in the years after that song became a hit. Did they work it out? Well, they at least stopped long enough to notice how short life is and they shared some sense of the precious perspective with which we should all view life. You may not have all the answers you need but you have, at least, enough to make today a good day.

And for the Daily Mail, he wrote:

We're not here for long. So make the most of every moment. We forget this so often, and get caught up in missions, and desires. We think we have forever and a day. In one way, we may be right - for are we not eternal spirits, temporarily residing in finite physical form? An elevated perspective is key to a meaningful existence. As Jupiter soon reaches the end of its retrograde phase, you'll find the higher you rise, the further you see.

Whether this was purposely Cainer's final words to the world, proof of astrology's powers, or simply an ominous coincidence is hard to say. But no matter which it may be, it's a gorgeous and uplifting message to leave behind.

"Jonathan had this great talent - not only his gift and wisdom but also the ability to make people feel he was speaking directly to them as individuals," his brother, Daniel, told the Daily Mail. "I think that was the key, that people felt he spoke to them personally."

Cainer is survived by his wife and eight children.
