Drake and Clarks Join Forces for New OVO Desert Boot

By Jake Woolf.

Drake's new album playlist More Life dropped on Saturday, and if you're like us, it's all you've been listening to since. It's a record jam-packed with features, anthems, and of course a few good vaguely island-y, dancehall-inspired songs. It's common knowledge at this point that Drake has a serious affinity for Jamaican music and culture, so much so it's lead people to question his authenticity when saying things like "man dem" or "real ting, ay?". Point is, his love of Jamaican culture has now expanded into new categories, as he took to Instagram to unveil a brand new shoe collaboration with Clarks on its classic desert boot.

Clarks have long been a part of Jamaican culture and style, particularly in the reggae and dancehall scenes. According to Vogue, "Desert Boot’s particular cocktail of dapper British gentility and commando roughness—not to mention its practicality in an urban, tropical milieu—had made Clarks irresistible to the rudeboys of Kingston’s burgeoning concrete jungle." As a result, it's no surprise they're also now irresistible to Drake.

His version appears to come in two colors—a classic tan and a more daring purple—and both feature embossed OVO logos throughout. It's a subtle detail, but one that elevates these from just your average desert boots to collectibles. But desert boots don't just look great with the colorful wide-leg trousers that are all over Jamaica, but with American classics like blue and white jeans, or your more casual leaning suits. We'll update you as soon as we know more about this highly-anticipated collaboration.
