Balmain Designer Olivier Rousteing is an "H&M Boy"

Designers, they’re just like us! In a new promo video for the Balmain x H&M collection, the French label’s creative director Olivier Rousteing admits that he shopped at the mega retailer like an everyday Joe. “I’m an H&M boy,“ he says. “I am the H&M generation. I was getting the clothes from H&M, waiting two or three hours to get the clothes, so I know the excitement that can happen to the people in the world.”

The 29-year-old baby faced designer, who is BFFs with the Kardashians and regularly sends custom clothes to North West, is excited that this collaboration is representative of all people, a key component to his own line. “Balmain is a real luxury brand, and really inclusive of pushing the concept of diversity and communicating with the world. Thanks to H&M, which is a huge platform, joining H&M and Balmain is creating an entire nation.”

In Balmain x H&M we trust. The merch hits stores November 5th.
