Anna Wintour Seen Wearing This Political Accessory at the Brock Collection Show

On Thursday, the Brock Collection presented its Fall-Winter 2017 collection at New York Fashion Week. The brand, headed by romantic and creative partners Laura Vassar and Kristopher Brock, won the CFDA Fashion Fund Award in 2016, a prize presented by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

This is the first collection the duo has shown since being anointed by Anna Wintour, and the 36-look show was a marriage of classic contemporary looks — an aesthetic carried over to the set itself, in which a pianist supplied, not Bach or Mozart, but the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?” and Rihanna’s “Stay.”

While others will surely rave over the cashmere knits and python belts and matching sling-back pumps, the accessory we’re most fond of are the mink scarves, seen on a handful of the looks in romantic fall colors like rust and pink. The scarves are not to be outdone by the luxurious mink jackets, which gave one nearby editor “serious Margot Tenenbaum vibes.”

But if fur isn’t your thing, there was another detail during the show that made a booming statement, albeit political, not sartorial: Beside the show programs on each seat, the Brock Collection gave attendees pink pins that read, “Fashion Stands With Planned Parenthood.” As the New York Times’ fashion critic Vanessa Friedman noted, Anna Wintour has already been spotted wearing hers.
