David Bowie and Leonard Cohen up for posthumous Brit Awards
David Bowie and Leonard Cohen have been nominated for posthumous 2017 Brit Awards.
Bowie is pitted against Craig David, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka and Skepta for Best British Male Solo Artist. Even David himself recognised that he would be competing with a true great.
"Bowie's career has been so epic," he told the BBC. "He influenced me and so many other artists. There's no competition."
Leonard Cohen, who died in November 2016, is nominated alongside Bon Iver, Drake, Bruno Mars and the Weeknd for International Male Solo Artist.
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 22 February at London's O2.
