[UPDATED] Reese's Has Confirmed The Existence Of Reese's Stuffed With Reese's Pieces

The charade is over! Reese's has confirmed that the coy tweets and posts they've been publishing for weeks is for a real product: Reese's Stuffed With Pieces, in both regular and Big Cup varieties. They released the news via this cheeky Facebook post yesterday.

Now, that the long national teaseathon is over, and the real wait begins. The company announced these super-meta treats will be on shelves starting in July. Someone get ET on the phone.

Last night in our daily food news round-up, we reported rumblings of a new Reese's Peanut Butter Cup that is filled with ET's favorite treat-Reese's Pieces. Now we're even more convinced that is officially a thing due to madness that erupted on social media over the last 24 hours.

The whole thing actually started with a few cryptic Facebook posts and Tweets:

Then Delish reached out to parent company Hershey's for comment yesterday and brand representatives told us: "Would Reese's make consumer dreams come true and bring together two beloved favorites into one mind-blowing delicious cup of goodness? Now you're #cupfused."

Now that word has spread, Eater reported a similarly tease-y response from Hershey about the news:

"Guess you've heard about the #Cupfusion," quotes a Hershey's spokesman via email. "Would Reese's make consumer dreams come true and bring together two beloved favorites - Cups and Pieces - into one mind-blowing delicious cup of goodness? You'll just have to keep watching as it unfolds!"

Playing into exactly what Reese's was hoping for, its Twitter and Facebook feeds were flooded last night with emphatic pleas for this tease to become a reality.

OK, we get it. You want to get fans all hyped up. You want to keep us guessing. AND IT'S WORKING.

Touché, Hershey's. We're calling it. Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cups are happening. Now it's just a matter of when Reese's decides to stop toying with us, and give us the Reese's Pieces-filled goods. One post claims the candy will be available in July. Here's hoping they won't keep up this charade until then.
