Colton Haynes Prefers To Wear Louboutins Over Tennis Shoes

Day 3 of NYFW: Men’s wrapped with Louisiana-born, Alabama-based designer Billy Reid, where the designer showed clothing that was far more European inspired than his usual southern style. That seemed to work just fine for his southern-bred admirers like TV actor (and Yahoo Style’s favorite cover boy) Colton Haynes, who sat front row.

“Billy is just the coolest person ever,” Haynes said of the designer. “He’s from Alabama and I’m from Kansas, so we just had a good ole hick time backstage!”

Haynes has been making his rounds this week and spoke of brands like Public School, Richard Chai, and Ovadia & Sons with the utmost admiration: “Ariel and Shimon’s [Ovadia & Sons] stuff is incredible—it looks like, super structural,” he told Yahoo Style.

Though the actor digs the recent emergence of the athleisure trend, he admitted to only becoming familiar with sportswear recently. “I’m still getting used to the whole sportswear thing,” he says. “I wear suits to get coffee in the morning! Now, I’m embracing sportswear because everyone else is doing it.”

So despite feeling comfy in some new Public School sweatpants and Tim Coppens sneakers, Haynes is generally sticking to more gentlemanly attire. “I don’t like tennis shoes, I like Louboutins,” he said before turning his fancy feet toward a phalanx of waiting photographers, smiling. That southern charm works every time.
