Coco Rocha’s Infant Already Has More Instagram Followers Than You

Coco Rocha, the most enthusiastic pregnant woman ever, has graduated to most excited new mom of all time. The model, who tirelessly documented every single stage of her nine month gestational period with the hashtag #babyconran, gave birth to baby girl Ioni James Conran on Saturday, and wasted no time introducing her daughter to the great wide world of social media. The 26-year-old shared the news of her labor by posting a selfie in a hospital gown on her not-yet-born infant’s account @IoniConran with the caption, “The time is right to make my grand entrance.”
Since Conran entered the world on March 28, Rocha’s already posted four images and one video (her first video selfie set to M83′s “I Need You”) on the two-day-old’s handle. Each has a few thousand likes and comments and the account already has more than 17,000 followers. Rocha herself has nearly a million followers, so it makes sense that her loyalists would want to see photos of her offspring as well.
Some might criticize Rocha’s approach to social media, denouncing her over sharing, but as Eva Chen, the editor in chief of Lucky who similarly bestowed her newborn with an Instagram hours after being welcomed into the world, explained, it’s more about not having to send friends and family baby pics all the time, a workaround for intimate acquaintances. Ioni’s account currently has 7,000 pending requests.
