Coach to Present First Runway Show at NYFW

For all its celebrity dog campaigns, Coach has been in the midst of trying to elevate its image to one of luxury and sophistication for the past couple years. Fewer blow out sales and higher-end product, headed up by Stuart Vevers, have helped the label’s image, however, sales figures still reflect the company’s growing pains.

With profits down 84.4 percent in the fourth quarter, Coach is continuing to push to gain a new customer base, starting by scrapping their typical NYFW setup. Fashionista reports that rather than hold a viewing of the collection, the American label will have its first ever women’s runway show this fall as it presents Vevers’ spring 2016 collection in New York.

Luckily, the label isn’t completely at a loss despite their shrinking profits. After acquiring the highly profitable Stuart Weitzman shoe brand back in May, Coach has been able to stay afloat by piggybacking their acquisition’s success.
