Cinnamon Roll Overnight Oats Are Your New Favorite Healthy Breakfast

From Delish

Overnight oats are my weekday morning savior. I can survive without coffee, but I'm useless until I've eaten. Hangry is real, people. Preparing a healthy breakfast the night before helps me start the day off right. In a rush to get work, I don't have time to make stovetop oatmeal, let alone toast on some days. I have a feeling some can relate.

If you've never tried overnight oats, I implore you to try them. Oats taste surprisingly good when eaten cold. My tried-and-true formula requires equal parts Greek yogurt (preferably 2%), milk and old-fashioned oats. I find that 1/3 cup of each is enough to keep me energized until lunch time. I also add some cinnamon and a tiny pinch of salt. Flavor-wise, you could stop with cinnamon and top your jar (or bowl) with fruit and granola in the morning. Peanut butter and honey are good additions as well. But I have something way better. Cinnamon Roll Overnight Oats.

It sounds a little bit contradictory, like we're making something healthy totally unhealthy. But that's not the case. In fact, most everything about the cinnamon roll version is the same as my basic recipe except for the spiral on top, which is not so bad! All you need to make it are a couple tablespoons of cream cheese (for a few portions), a little bit of brown sugar and as much cinnamon as you prefer. Your oats are getting less than a tablespoon of each per serving. Get your swirl on!
