It was new moms’ night out in Los Angeles last night, as singer Ciara and fellow mamas Drew Barrymore and Kerry Washington turned up to celebrate the Daily Front Row’s inaugural Fashion Los Angeles Awards for a star-studded, intimate fete and show at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles.

Radiant in a white Calvin Klein suit with a matching bandeau top, the Grammy-winning songstress was eager to flaunt her hard-earned post-pregnancy bod just eight months after giving birth to her son. Just how did she go about it? “The plan was real serious, I was really focused,” she said. “As a new mom after you have your baby, you feel so proud—by the way, my baby was 9lbs 10 oz—so I felt like I could conquer anything after that. I just had this thing behind me, like I’m gonna have my baby and I’m gonna keep it moving. And it feels kind of fun. It’s been four months and I’m down most of my weight.” She added that she still felt like she had a few pounds to go (though don’t ask us where from).

"It’s a confidence thing," she continued. "It makes you feel something extra as a woman. It makes you feel like you’re doing something. Not only are you having a baby but you’re also keeping it moving, you’re working, you’re focused and your baby kind of does that to you." As for tips to shedding pregnancy weight? “You need to drink a gallon of water a day. Recently my dad and I had a water contest—you had to drink a gallon every day…my dad lost 8lbs in two days. But it’s water weight.”

But Ciara wasn’t the only one who made motherhood look seemingly effortless. “I just left [my kids] and I am weirded out to be out of the house!” said a glowing Barrymore, who showed up to present her close friend, InStyle editor Ariel Foxman, with the Fashion Media Brand of the Year award. Sporting a svelte Milly pencil skirt and Zara top paired with Stuart Weitzman heels, the actress-turned-entrepreneur pulled together her look with a punchy red lip, part of her Flower cosmetics line. “I’ll be back in sweatpants in no time!” laughed the mother-of-two.
