At Beautycon LA, Chrissy Teigen took to the stage for a fireside chat with E! News’ Zuri Hall. In the very Teigen-esque style of keeping it real, the model and Lip Sync Battle host talked about everything from her postpartum depression, taking much-needed breaks from social media, and the surprising revelation that she gets jealous of other women’s bodies.

In our current social climate, many of us are habitually programmed to be glued to our phones and computers nonstop. As harmless as it seems, these habits might really be messing with us, whether they’re contributing to depression, causing us to eat poorly, or damaging our brain matter. Leave it to our lord and savior Chrissy Teigen to produce a possible antidote.

“John and I just went on the most amazing little retreat to get away from cell phones and alcohol, and listen, you’ve seen my Twitter, I love drinking! But there’s a fine balance with everything, and I think it’s important to take some time away for yourself. Take some time away and really relax without your phones. I think that’s so important, it changes everything.”

(Love this, but is it TRULY a vacay if there’s no Instagramming? We kid.)

And while Chrissy and John are ultimate #relationshipgoals, they can fall victim to a big problem many modern couples are having in relation to social media:

“John and I look at each other sometimes and we realize that we haven’t spoken in a few hours because we’ve both been on our phones and computers,” she said. “I don’t want to be that couple. I want to be the couple in the restaurant that’s holding hands.”

We do too, Chrissy, we do too.

Chrissy also discussed the events leading up to her postpartum depression diagnosis, which she first opened up about in an essay for Glamour back in March. “A lot of people had to be witness to my worst stages of it. My hair and makeup people, Jen Atkin, Mary Phillips, and Patrick Ta…I can’t even really explain how many people came into our house on a daily basis and were wondering ‘what the hell is wrong with Chrissy?’” Through tears, Chrissy went on to talk about how her husband John Legend “took on a lot with it” and how he and her mother Pepper saw everything firsthand and were very supportive.

Ice cream anyone?🤗🤗

After being diagnosed, Chrissy went on the antidepressant Lexapro. She said:

“My big thing was, I don’t have it because I have such a great life, there’s no possible way I could be sad. I have everything I want. But it can happen to anybody. When you’re in that hole, you feel like you’ll never be out of that hole. You can’t even ever imagine being happy again.”

Chrissy encouraged other people suffering from depression to reach out and not be ashamed to talk about it. “I think my good thing with it was, I wasn’t afraid to joke about it. I’d be like, listen, I have depression! Make that word a thing. Don’t let people freak out about the word depression.”
