How many times has your mom forbidden you to do something, only to have her say, “You’ll thank me later”?

Turns out, it happens to celebrities, too: Chloë Grace Moretz recently opened up about wanting to get plastic surgery done at just 16 years old, but her mom nixed the idea — and Chloë couldn’t be happier that she did.

“I wanted a boob job,” Chloë told Elle. “I wanted the fat pad under my chin to be removed. I wanted a butt reduction, or whatever…My mom said, ‘Absolutely not, you’re not allowed to have plastic surgery.'”

Looking at Chloë now, it’s almost unthinkable to imagine her not being her naturally perfect self (one that Brooklyn Beckham thinks very highly of). Although, Chloë admitted, looking as good as she does isn’t as easy as “I woke up like this.”

“Yes, I have had hair extensions,” Chloë said. “Yes, the reason I have this body is because I work out seven times a week. Yes, I eat really clean — even though I don’t always want to, and I definitely cheat. But you’re not just born with this.”

But Chloë says that she is super grateful to her mom for not letting her go through with the surgeries.

“Because of that, I found a lot of power within my insecurities,” Chloë said. “They’re what make me who I am now.”

We’re so happy that Chloë found peace with her body and that she’s happy with her (and her mom’s) choice not to go forward with the surgeries.
