As we previously reported, Chelsea Clinton is on the cover of Elle magazine’s May issue, rounding out the Clinton print media takeover. (Bill is on the cover of Town & Country and Hillary is on the cover of New York Magazine.) In the interview, which hits newsstands next week, Chelsea talks about motherhood, growing up being the offspring of two of the most powerful people on the planet, and whether or not her mom will be running for president (our bet says yes).

“When you ask about the importance of having a woman president, absolutely it’s important, for, yes, symbolic reasons—symbols are important; it is important who and what we choose to elevate, and to celebrate,” Chelsea says in the interview, although it’s unclear whether or not she’s speaking about her mother specifically or just a representative from the gender in general. “One of our core values in this country is that we are the land of equal opportunity, but when equal hasn’t yet included gender, there is a fundamental challenge there that, I believe, having our first woman president—whenever that is—will help resolve.”

Well, if it turns out that Hillary isn’t running—which we doubt—perhaps Chelsea will want to take that step forward.
