Chanel Iman Is the Latest Celeb to Step Out in Paris Hilton’s Birthday Dress

Chanel Iman is taking a page from Kendall Jenner’s and Paris Hilton’s books. The model stepped out in a sexy slinky silver dress very similar to the one Hilton wore on her 21st birthday in 2002, a look that Jenner re-created for her 21st birthday this past November.

We’d say it’s the dress that gets passed down to models on their 21st birthdays, but Iman is 26 and her birthday is in December. So… she must just like the look.

The Victoria’s Secret model was spotted leaving Tao Hollywood Wednesday night in a short metallic dress from Revolve’s new label, H:ours. The $300 aluminum frock has spaghetti straps, a side slit, a plunging back, and a cowl neck — all characteristics of the silver dresses that came before it. If only she had the matching choker, we’d be certain that she’d borrowed the ensemble from one of the gals.

Jenner left her hair loose with her outfit, but like Hilton, Iman went for a creative updo. Of course, they were still very different; while Hilton used butterfly clips to secure her pixie cut, Iman’s long hair was styled in multicolored braids.

Like her predecessors, Iman paired the dress with delicate strappy heels. Iman’s were silver, while Jenner’s were Lucite and Hilton’s were white. See? Not all models think alike. It seems Iman is more of a fan of the matchy-matchy way of dressing; her clutch matched the outfit as well. Jenner also carried a clutch but it was Lucite…and we don’t know what on earth Hilton was carrying on her birthday, but it wasn’t a clutch — it was more of a Tinkerbell lunchbox.

While we’ve concluded that this isn’t a sisterhood of the traveling birthday dress, there is one common denominator: the Kardashian clan. Always at the center of everything.

When Hilton started the trend, her pal (and closet organizer) Kim Kardashian was by her side. Years later, maybe Kardashian shared the tale of the slinky silver 21st-birthday dress with her younger sister, who then inspired her fellow Victoria’s Secret model Iman.

Now, the only remaining question is, who is going to pass on the silver dress to us?
