Buy Naomi Campbell’s ‘Empire’ Mark Bouwer Couture Dress on Gilt

Naomi Campbell as Camilla Marks, on Empire. Right: The Marc Bouwer Couture dress is for sale on Gilt starting March 18.

As anyone with a television will tell you, tonight marks the 2-hour finale of Empire, the Lee Daniels phenomenon that has been a hit sensation on FOX. To commemorate the occasion, supermodel Naomi Campbell, who stars as cougar Camilla Marks on the program, has donated the Marc Bouwer Couture dress that she wore in one of the premier episodes to Gilt.

All of the proceeds of the glittery frock, which is worth $12,000, will go to Campbell’s Fashion for Relief charity (which she established in 2005), and is specifically earmarked for the Ebola Survival Fund which works with affected communities in Liberia and Sierra Leone. (You may recall that Campbell organized a star-studded fashion show in September which benefitted this same charity and also saw our own Joe Zee strut his stuff on the catwalk.)

As for her now infamous character? “There are certain things about Camilla I do identify with,” Campbell told Yahoo Style. “Our world is very fast, it’s fast evolving. And there’s people coming in and out constantly, new wave of models, new magazines, new agencies, new costume directors, new brands, so it’s very, very fast.”

Fans of the show are going to have to move fast should they want to get their hands on that dress. Head over to Gilt at noon on March 18 to get in on the action.
