Burberry Is the First Fashion Brand to Get Its Own Apple Music Channel

As if Burberry wasn’t already dominating our closets, the classic British style staple, helmed by chief creative and CEO Christopher Bailey, is now infiltrating our ears with a soon-to-debut dedicated channel on Apple Music. Set to launch on Tuesday, the channel — which falls under the service’s Curators’ section — is the first of its kind for an international brand.

The new partnership will draw upon Burberry’s London roots and its extensive relationship with British music, often evidenced in its runway shows and campaigns. This is not Burberry’s first foray into music curation: The channel follows in the footsteps of the hyper successful Burberry Acoustic platform (uk.burberry.com/acoustic), which was launched in 2010 to promote emerging artists (think Jake Bugg, Keane, and Roo Panes), and has garnered more than 19 million YouTube hits to date.

Look for performances, songs, films, and Brit-inspired playlists on the channel, which will also showcase a performance by singer-songwriter Alison Moyet when she takes over the mic at the Burberry Womenswear show in London on Sept. 21.

The announcement isn’t the only style-centric news coming out of Apple’s corner as of late: It comes on the heels of the announcement of an Hermes and Apple Watch collaboration, which hits stores Oct. 5.
