Bride’s Bouquet Toss Is a Slam Dunk
The bridal bouquet toss doesn’t require much athletic prowess, but one newlywed showed off her superior sports skills when she threw her flowers straight into a basketball hoop.
The group of women waiting to catch the bouquet were left bitterly disappointed when the bride scored a virtual slam dunk. Unfortunately for those hoping to become the next Mrs., the flowers got stuck in the basketball net right above their heads.
While momentarily upset, the guests all broke into a round of applause when it dawned on them the awesome trick the bride had managed to pull off. The bride herself was pretty gobsmacked.
The throwing of the bouquet tradition began in England centuries ago, when single ladies tried to take a piece of the bride’s attire for good luck; however, brides would apparently throw bouquets at the women to deter them from taking parts of her dress. The tradition still lives on today — although in many different (and sometimes funny) forms.
