The gorgeous and talented Bella Thorne came out as bisexual earlier this year — a move we cheered mightily — and while her fans have been super supportive, it turns out that Hollywood has not.

In a recent interview with Maxim, Thorne said,

“It is hard in this business for us. It really is. I have already had people talk shit to me. And it comes from people in the industry, not even fans. I’ve had studios tell me my image is too ‘out there,’ hinting at it but not really saying it.”

One word for that: UGH.

The former Disney star, who got her start on Shake it Off, came out in August when a fan asked straightforwardly on Twitter if she was bisexual. She’d shared some photos on Snapchat that showed her kissing her best friend Bella Pendergast on the lips, piquing her fans’ curiosity; she answered her fan’s question with a simple “Yes.”

While Thorne is currently in a relationship with a man — Tyler Posey — she told Maxim that she looks for the same qualities in a partner, whether male or female.

“[I look for] somebody who gets you, that relationship where somebody’s just completely accepted who I am as a person and is just like, ‘Fuck it!’ I love that.”

We’re with you on that one, Bella!

Despite the industry backlash she’s faced, Thorne certainly isn’t starving for work. She’s currently set to star in 2017’s Famous in Love, and has roles in the dark comedy Shovel Buddies and the Jessica Chastain-led film The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.

Get it, girl!
