Bella Hadid Is The New Face Of Max Mara Accessories

She follows in the footsteps of her sister with this campaign.

Though Bella Hadid has made considered strides to differentiate herself and her career from that of her older sister (you may have heard of her), it's becoming increasingly harder for two of the most in-demand models to diverge paths in what's still a pretty small industry. It feels like every day, either sibling is announcing a new cover, ambassadorship, or collaboration—Gigi for Vogue Eyewear! Bella for Nike's Cortez! Eventually, there's bound to be some overlap. Such became evident this morning, when the younger of the two announced she's the new face of Max Mara accessories—a title held most recently by none other than sister Gigi.

The 20-year-old shared the news with her 13.6 million followers. "New face of @maxmara accessories," she wrote. "Made possible by the most legendary team," which included Steven Meisel (who photographed the campaign), Carine Roitfeld, Pat McGrath, Guido Palau, and Ben Perreira. "I am blessed and so grateful to work with every one of you," Hadid added.

For its latest campaign, Max Mara appears to have decided to keep it in the family: As Fashionista pointed out, Bella's older sister Gigi served as the face for the Italian label's accessories line starting in fall '16. (Both models have walked in the brand's Milan Fashion Week runway in the past.)

In her March 2016 Allure cover story, Hadid explained how she tried to distance herself from her sister when she first started out (at least when it came to hair color), since Gigi already had a few catwalks under her belt when Bella decided to join the industry. But in the seasons since, Bella has built an impressive resumé that speaks for itself, one that earned her a Model of the Year award. Hopefully, their next joint venture is a Hadid clothing line, so we can actually have a shot on mom Yolanda's upcoming reality show.
