At H.O.M.E. With A.P.C.’s Jean Touitou

“I’ve been drinking minimalistic milk since I was 6 months old,” says Jean Touitou, the founder of beloved French brand A.P.C. And that stripped-down approach to design, which he implements in his clothing line, can also be seen throughout the Paris apartment he shares with his wife and two daughters.

Located in Paris’s affluent 7th arrondissement on the Left bank, Touitou’s dwellings are classic, cozy, and warm, with rich blond elm paneling throughout. The Scandinavian-feeling space was designed by architect Laurent Deroo, who’s also worked with Touitou on designing A.P.C.’s interiors for the past 15 years.

But it’s unlikely Touitou will be calling his friend up for updates to his work anytime soon — he only cares timeless, enduring style. Says Touitou, “If you want to be trendy, in the end you lose.”

WSJ Magazine took an exclusive tour of that home for its March Men’s Style issue, on newsstands March 5. See more of Touitou’s home at WSJ.com.
