The 37-foot AM37 boat made its world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show today, marking the first nautical product for the British automaker.

The result of two years of research and development, the boat "is a pure translation of the Aston Martin DNA into an entirely new maritime concept," Marek Reichman, the brand's EVP and chief creative officer, said. The project was engineered by Quintessence Yachts.

The cabin interior includes a table that can be transformed into a bed, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, and lavatory. There's seating for eight, making it a perfect choice for a cocktail cruise.

As for the James Bond musical reported below, its executive producer Merry Saltzman told Playbill.com that "production schedules and trial runs are still being worked out in anticipation of a late 2017-early 2018 opening" on Broadway or in Las Vegas.

Quintessence Yachts recently released more details about the powerboats it's producing in collaboration with Aston Martin and Mulder Design that will be completed in September-just in time for the release of the next Bond film, Spectre (which will feature an Aston Martin DB10)

The AM37 and AM37S (top speed: 60 knots) will be the first powerboats to carry the Aston Martin name and feature its characteristic "beauty, power, and soul," according to press materials.

In a move that would make Q proud, the boat's air conditioning, refrigerator, and espresso machine can be started remotely from any location so that the coffee is ready when you arrive at the dock. The navigation and entertainment systems can be controlled by voice, naturally.

In other Bond news, the Daily Mail reported yesterday that 007 film producer Harry Saltzman's daughter Merry secured the rights to-and will executive produce-a musical production of the series that's set to open in late 2017 or early 2018 in Las Vegas or New York.

The show, whose working title is James Bond: The Musical, will feature a new storyline and a new Bond girl, with a score and lyrics by Jay Henry Weisz.

Broadway awaits, Mr. Bond.
