There is more to real estate television than meets the eye. Between the Property Brothers admitting to re-filming scenes, to the outcomes on "Fixer Upper" being decided beforehand by producers, it's hard to know what's real and what's fake. And with reality television, sometimes that can be half the fun.

According to Ryan Serhant, however, "Million Dollar Listing: New York" is 100 percent real - no scripts, no re-dos, just the dramatic world of luxury real estate in New York City.

The star of the show recently told HuffPost, "It would make my life so much easier and maybe we could do the show in three months instead of the year it takes filming it,” Serhant said. "Everything is real, everything is organic, which is why you see so many deals die on the show. At first, when we started doing the show, I hated it because I was like, ‘I don’t want to go on TV and have it show me lose deals.’"

Apparently Bravo takes the authenticity of the show very seriously, making sure that all of the agents are honest about their clients and active listings. The network does an "intense" check on every client and lease agreement, Serhant said.

It's true, "Million Dollar Listing" really does tackle the highs and lows of the industry, with many a-deal gone completely haywire. According to Serhant, your average real estate agent loses way more deals than they actually make - but that's just the reality of the business.
