Watch Anna Wintour School Derek Zoolander on the Real #BlueSteel

When Derek Zoolander and Hansel walked out on the Valentino runway in Paris on Monday morning, the jaded (and very tired) fashion crowd was reawakened. Shocked attendees sprung to their feet, whipped out their phones to Vine, Instagram, and Tweet the surprise, and, best of all, smiled. But no one seemed happier to see Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson than Vogue's editor in chief, Anna Wintour.

An even bigger surprise might be Wintour’s stellar acting skills. While she appeared genuinely astounded, laughing along with everyone else, it looks like she was in on the gig. She was backstage with Derek and Hansel before they made their triumphant return, chatting with Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, too. The editrix asked if the pair were ready and Ben Stiller, as Derek Zoolander, gave an expectedly air-headed response. “Usually I go right, left, right, left, right, left, but today I’m going to start left in honor of how the sun rotates,” he said. “My people wanted me to start right but I said, ‘It’s 2012 it’s time for something different.’ They said, ‘It’s 2015.’ I said, ‘Agree to disagree.’ Cause it’s one of those things you can never really tell so…” Meanwhile, Hansel is going to save the world with his model walk.

Obviously, they close their encounter with a selfie stick selfie. Because it is 2015 after all.
