Amy Schumer Photobombs Kim and Kanye, Faceplants on the Red Carpet

Red carpet events can be hit or miss. Celebrities walk down, talk to news outlets, pose for pictures, and stop every six or so inches to answer the same questions 10 to 20 times. On Tuesday night, at the Time 100 “Most Influential People” red carpet, there was a palpable buzz in the air that made you think that things were going to be different. After all, it’s rare that an event will draw high-ranking diplomats, groundbreaking scientists, and Kimye all in one room. Get a bunch of famous people together, and fun things are bound to happen.
Though it must be said that the evening truly belonged to comedian Amy Schumer who was being honored for her show, Inside Amy Schumer. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were nearby while the funny woman was being interviewed on the red carpet. With flashbulbs popping, Kim, in a beautiful Sophie Theallet lace gown with a massive skirt, and Kanye in a black velvet jacket stood side by side, looking regal, when suddenly Schumer started walking towards them. Was she going to say hi? No, she threw herself in front of them, pretending like she had stumbled, and then laid there, completely face down on the carpet for a few seconds! Kim and Kanye pretended not to notice, all the while actress Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black, yelled “Yas, Amy, YASSSSSS!” Then everyone erupted in laughter. Kanye looked at Schumer, still serious, but after hearing the laughter, Kim smiled, clearly not knowing who Schumer was, but recognizing that it was funny. After they left the red carpet, a photographer was heard yelling from the pit, “Thank you for financing my health care and life insurance!” Schumer replied, “you’re welcome baby!”

Later in the evening, Kim and Schumer made amends and were even photographed together. Schumer really is the funniest girl at the party, and for that she will always be influential to us!
