Amazon's Black Friday Sales Start Today
Are you the type of shopper who has all your holiday gifts ready to go months in advance? If so, has Amazon got a sale for you. The online-shopping giant just launched its Black Friday sales - yes, on November 1.
Amazon's Black Friday Deals site has officially launched and will have new deals every five minutes from now until December 22. There are also up to 20 daily deals that offer steep discounts on everything from vacuums to engagement rings. And naturally, there are lots of discounts on Amazon devices like Kindles.
The site is also offering several other perks this holiday shopping season. Starting on November 15, if you own an iPhone, you can use Package X-Ray on the Amazon app to see what's inside a box that has already been delivered, so you don't have to open it and spoil the big surprise. And if you have a Prime membership, you can get an additional 20% off pre-ordered or new release video games.

USA Today points out that a major chunk of shoppers begin buying holiday gifts as early as October, so Amazon is targeting that portion of customers. And they're expecting a big rush, announcing it will hire 120,000 temporary workers to make up for the high holiday demand.
But that doesn't mean you should necessarily rush to buy your big-ticket items. Mashable notes that this is just a "countdown" to the major Black Friday sales closer to Thanksgiving. But hey, if you need a few items for around the house, now's your chance to get a good deal.
