Alexander Wang: The Hottest Ticket At New York Fashion Week

The looks debuting at New York Fashion Week are usually limited to the runway, but designer Alexander Wang’s latest collection is expected to prove otherwise.

"At the end of the day, fashion week is about selling clothes and these clothes will fly out of the store," says fashion expert Mary Alice Stephenson.

The clothes have a plenty of stretch and jolts of color. They show skin, but not too much. There’s a hint of a midriff, but nothing obscene — a woman could wear something like this on the streets, but maybe throw an elegant jacket over it.

It’s sexy and feminine and really refined in a very sporty way.

Wang’s show, which took place last Saturday, September 6, has become one of New York Fashion Week’s most anticipated events. And this year’s show did not disappoint.

Wang, in addition to designing his eponymous line and serving as the creative director of Balenciaga, will debut his collaboration at H&M in November. It’s clear that the designer specializes in styles that are flattering for all women.
