According to Mandy Moore, Justin Timberlake emotionally scarred her with this comment
James Corden has a magical way of bringing out emotional stories from his guests, and they’re always so, so good. For instance, during an interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday, Mandy Moore recalled a Justin Timberlake encounter that “scarred” her for life.
Way before she starred in This is Us, Moore toured with both the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSync back when she was a teenager. She had the best time ever while on tour, because duh. But, there was one incident in particular that still haunts her to this day.
It happens to have nothing to do with her singing, dancing, or performances in general — but feet.
“I’m a terrible dancer, but I had background dancers at the time because that’s what you did, and I remember distinctly one time walking backstage, and I didn’t really see much of the guys because I was the measly opening act. Nobody cared about me,” she told Corden. “But Justin Timberlake was there and somehow there was a conversation about feet or foot size. They were comparing shoe [sizes]. And all the background dancers and the ‘NSync background dancers and my background dancers [were there], and I stroll up at 15, like, freaking out that Justin Timberlake is there.”
But the interaction didn’t exactly go as she hoped.
“He was like, ‘You have big feet for a girl,'” she said. “I’m sure he doesn’t remember this at all but I was so impressionable, and I thought the world of him and he was on a pedestal. I mean, 16 years later it stuck with me, so it really scarred me emotionally.”

When you’re a teenager and are self-conscious about something like your foot size, to have one of the biggest male pop stars of the time call you out on it is absolutely mortifying. Yet, we have a feeling that was definitely not Justin’s intention. And if it was? Baby, BYE BYE BYE.
