From Town & Country

Is Meghan Markle a name you're suddenly hearing everywhere? There's a good reason for that. The Suits actress has been dating Britain's most royally eligible bachelor, Prince Harry. So, if this American-born beauty is bound for Kensington Palace, here are a few reasons why the actress would make a great Princess.

Her star is on the rise.

The actress is best-known for role as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits, but Markle has also been featured in other big name shows such as CSI: Miami and 90210. She has also been in a few comedies such as Get Him to The Greek and Horrible Bosses. Given the pressures of being romantically involved with a Prince, perhaps it makes sense for Prince Harry to choose someone who's already familiar with the pressures of the spotlight?

And so are her personal assets.

According to Celebritynetworth.com, which tracks the fortunes of actors, athletes, businessmen, politicians, and other noteworthy people, Markle's net worth is $5 million. The same website puts Prince Harry's assets in the $40 million range.

She's modest

In a recent interview with the Vancouver Sun, Markle shared with the publication her schedule for her next five months, which is packed with shoots, charity work, family visits, and travel. When asked how she felt about the recap of her next few months she said: "So, my cup runneth over and I'm the luckiest girl in the world!" Though she did not mention Harry in the interview, she could very well be alluding to her relationship.

She's already had an all-American brush with royalty.

Markle attended an all-girl Catholic school in Los Angeles where she was called charismatic and hard-working by her fellow students. She was also nominated by her classmates for prom queen. Sadly, she didn't win, but a former classmate told People that the now actress was truly kind-hearted. Another insider stated that even today, Markle "doesn't buy into Hollywood fakeness. She's a genuinely good person who cares about others."

Like Duchess Kate, she's well educated, smart, and practical.

After high school, Markle attended Northwestern University where she majored in communications and took to the stage. Markle started acting professionally right out of college and supported herself between gigs by working as a freelance calligrapher.

She's a humanitarian.

Markle is a United Nations advocate for women and does work for the Clean Water Campaign. Very Princess Diana. In her spare time she also manages her lifestyle website, The TIG, where she also shares recipes as well as her tips for travel and fitness.

She's refreshingly different from the Windsors.

Markle comes from a mixed race family and is a champion for women who've struggled with their identity. In a column she wrote for Elle UK last year, she wrote candidly about her experience as a biracial woman, including roles she lost out on due to her ethnicity. "I wasn't black enough for the black roles and I wasn't white enough for the white ones."

She's close to her parents.

Family is nothing if not important to the British royal family. Markle is rumored to have met Prince Charles, and if that is the case and the two are still together, then it may be safe to assume that the family meeting went pretty well.

She's got a sense of humor.

Markle recently sent Instagram into a tizzy when she posted what is being called a "cryptic" photo of two bananas spooning.

A day later, she posted an ode to tea time that feels decidedly English.
