17 Things You Didn’t Know About Stacy London

What would reality fashion TV be like without Stacy London? It’s hard to say, given that the co-host of What Not to Wear pretty much kicked off the genre. And yet, the former stylist almost didn’t bother with her callback for the gig. In the video above, she explains why. And below, the Love, Lust, or Run host reveals 17 things you never knew about her in honor of tonight’s finale which turns the tables on the host, revealing a side of London you’ve never seen.

1) I Iove Star Wars. I think Darth Vader is the Karl Lagerfeld of science fiction and storm troopers are too chic. PS Princess LEIA’S last name is Organa. Thank you. You’re welcome.

2) I am completely phobic of big bugs. The sight of a waterbug and I either start screaming or crying.

3) I love dinosaurs. My favorite one is probably the velociraptor. Fast, small, vicious. This is not because I identify with them personally. Although I am also very fond of a pterodactyl.

4) I have a huge crystal collection which I started last year when I asked a very old friend of mine who is a healer what would be good for me. She said rose quartz, citrine and black tourmaline. I started studying up on crystals and now have a pretty huge collection. They all have physical and metaphysical properties. And I don’t care if you believe me because it’s just true.

5) I am mildly OCD. Everything has to be in its place or I get all kinds of antsy. I’m the chick that unpacks AS SOON AS I’m home from vacation.

6) I’ve had three cats in my life. All were adopted, all were long haired and all were black.

7) Baby Al, my current cat, was adopted at four months and will be 19 this October. This is, needless to say really, my longest committed relationship.

8) I try to eat gluten dairy sugar and alcohol free, though I’ve been drinking rosè and tequila all summer. I also have to admit that Hot Tamales (the candy) is to me, a food group. I could live on them, avocado, cashews, coconut and sweet potatoes.

9) When I was about four or five I wanted to be a gemologist. I used to carry around a huge coffee table book called Gems of The World and would plot how I was going to steal the Brazilian amethyst that was bigger than me out of the Museum of Natural History.

10) On a museum note, I have held the Hope Diamond and a pair of Marie Antoinette’s diamond earrings (both at the Smithsonian).

11) If I could be any Bond girl, I’d be Miss Moneypenny. All the flirting, none of the heartache and the best name.

12) I can’t drive (failed my test at 17), cook, speak French, play chess or tennis, type, garden or sing.

13) But I can sprint in five inch heels.

14) I consider Whoopi Goldberg to be one of my most important mentors.

15) I was born and bred in Manhattan. Lived in Greenwich Village until I was nine.

16) I recently got into sensory deprivation tanks. They’re wild. But all that salt is bad for your hair.

17) If I didn’t have the career I have now, I think I would be a philosophy professor or an animal rescuer.
