Norman Reedus gave a strong endorsement for breastfeeding and the “free the nipple” movement with an amazing photo he posted to Instagram.

If you needed any further endorsement of breastfeeding in public, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on AMC’s The Walking Dead, agreed to take a photo with a couple of nursing mamas recently. According to the Facebook page Momma Is A Hippie, whose owner is a friend of one of the cute moms in the photo, they noticed he was holding a fake boob as they approached. Breastfeeding was discussed, and he was all for taking a breastfeeding pic — and reportedly he said it was the best photo he’s ever taken. I might have to agree.

It’s awesome that Reedus is a proponent of breastfeeding, but it’s not totally surprising, as his character showed a nurturing side when a baby was born on The Walking Dead, and he helped care for her.

Breastfeeding remains a polarizing topic, but having support from one of the most popular male stars on TV is a breath of fresh air. Thanks, Norman, for being awesome and showing that breastfeeding isn’t something that needs to be hidden away. I expect your fan numbers have grown exponentially over the last day or two because of this badass photo.
