Toddler ‘Fixated’ With Personal Injury Lawyer Gets a Birthday Party He’ll Never Forget

When a little kid takes a shine to a particular TV character, it can quickly become a full-blown obsession.

Case in point: 2-year-old Grayson Dobra’s fixation with a New Orleans personal injury lawyer named Morris Bart, whose cheeky commercials run on local stations. Grayson, from Prairieville, La., is bonkers for Bart the way other kids get obsessed with Batman or Dora the Explorer.

“Before he could walk or talk, every time the Morris Bart commercial would come on, he was just fixated,” his mom, L’erin Dobra, told the Acadiana Advocate, a local newspaper that first wrote about the party this week. “You couldn’t talk to him. You couldn’t do anything with him. He would just sit and stare at the TV.”

Morris Bart’s cheeky catchphrase, “One call, that’s all,” even turned out to be some of the first words Grayson spoke, Dobra said.

So when it came time to plan a party for Grayson’s second birthday earlier this year, the family went all out with a Morris Bart theme: a made-to-order Morris Bart cake, a Morris Bart life-size cutout figure, and a Morris Bart T-shirt.

Dobra even called Bart’s law office to invite him to the party. The busy attorney couldn’t attend, according to the Acadiana Advocate, but he did send Grayson birthday wishes, as well as a signed photo, plus a keychain and a T-shirt emblazoned with the New Orleans Pelicans logo.

The party was a huge success, and Grayson was thrilled with his Morris Bart gear. “He still loves his Morris Bart shirt,” Dobra said. “If you put it on him, you’d better not try to take it off. He will throw a fit. He has his two photos on the nightstand, and he likes to give Morris Bart a kiss goodnight sometimes.”

Grayson is right about one thing: Bart’s commercials, like the one above, are highly addictive and entertaining. We can’t wait to see how the Dobras top this party theme next year for Grayson’s third birthday bash.
