One dad is taking the blame for his daughter’s late arrival to school in a note to her teacher that has gone viral.

Shalom Misk, a dad in Israel, sent his daughter, Talia, to school with a handwritten note excusing her tardiness, according to the Huffington Post. Israeli humor writer Hanoch Daum shared the note on Facebook on Wednesday, and it has since gotten more than 81,000 likes and more than 15,900 shares.

In the note, Misk admits he’s the reason Talia didn’t make it to school on time. “To Talia’s teacher: Late note,” Misk writes in Hebrew in the letter. “Good morning teacher! Dad is not mom. And Dad can’t do in one hour what Mom can do in half an hour. Therefore, Talia is late. Blessings, Dad.”

Daum shared Misk’s letter on his Facebook page, adding his own one-word comment: “Accurate!”

In the comments of the article, many parents are sharing their own funny late notes, as well as complimenting Misk’s sense of humor. “A [father] that finally admits the truth!” writes one commenter. “Brilliant! Sad but usually true! At least he sent a note!” added another.

But Misk’s wife says her husband is selling himself short in the note. “He has such a sense of humor and the note is now with the teacher,” Deenah Misk wrote in the comments of Daum’s post. “And he is an amazing dad.”
