For their fall 2021 collection, the Vaquera trio were inspired by performance. “The moment before going on stage, in a collection inspired by performance, and the absence of it. As designers Claire Sullivan, Bryn Taubensee and Patric DiCaprio described: “The moment before going on stage, in a collection inspired by performance, and the absence of it. Ballet dancers at Denny’s in their dad’s coat; warming up at the ice rink; the anticipation of the green room — they imagine scenes rich with anticipation for the big moment.”
The look: Dressing for the day.

Quote of note: “This speaks to what Vaquera are missing, namely the thrill of putting on a live show, the build up, the short moment of models on the runway and the inevitable celebration,” said Sullivan, Taubensee and DiCaprio.
Key looks: An oversize white long-sleeve T-shirt that says runway star across the front; a black padded cropped jacket paired with oversized black denim trousers; an oversize blue sweater with a blue silk and lace bra attached to the front paired with a blue sequin skirt with lace trim.
The takeaway: We’re all ready for the world to reopen and we can go back to some sort of normalcy where we can get dressed up again.
