It's her, hi. She's the director, it's her.

Taylor Swift is officially a movie maker!

The Grammy Award-winning singer will be making her feature directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures. The company announced the news on Dec. 9.

“Taylor is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller,” Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield in a statement. “It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey."

Details about the unnamed film's plot and casting have not yet been revealed, but Swift did write the original script, which will be produced by the studio.

The pop star, who turns 33 on Dec. 13, is no stranger to directing. Swift took home the best direction award at the 2022 MTV VMAs for her short film All Too Well, starring Dylan O’Brien and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. She won the same award back in 2020 for "The Man," which marked her solo directorial debut.

At the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, Swift noted that she is "at a place now" where the next step would be committing to making a film. "I feel like I would just absolutely love for the right opportunity to arise because I just absolutely adore telling stories this way," she told TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey at "In Conversation With... Taylor Swift."

However, it doesn't seem like Swifties can expect an action sequence from the director any time soon. "I think I will always want to tell human stories, about human emotion. I never say never, but I can't imagine myself like filming an action sequence. If it happens one day, honestly, like that'll be funny character growth, but at this point I could see it going in a more comedic, irreverent place," she said.

"I don't always see myself always telling stories about extreme guttural heartbreak at your most formative age that really sort of debilitates you emotionally for years and then you have to develop the scar tissue in order to move on with your life, and then like limp your way to your typewriter, write a novel about it," Swift added. "I think I've done that."
