Popular Shreveport Christmas light show canceled. Owner blames neighbor complaints

On Friday afternoon Owen Holman posted on his Facebook that the Gilbert Place 2022 Holman Family Light Show would be canceled. Less than 24 hours later the post had more than 250 shares and more than 300 comments, “Omg!!! It’s not Christmas without this light show!!!!” read one.

According to Holman's post, he is canceling the show because of complaints from the neighbors.

"I did apologize to all of our neighbors. It seems that I had been focusing on the thousands of you and your families who have come to be amazed and awed by the light show. Producing this show was the way I chose to thank and give back to the community by using the talents with which I have been blessed. Apparently, I did not give enough consideration to the twelve households in our neighborhood who may have been inconvenienced by the lights or the traffic and the occasionally rowdy teenagers playing their car stereo too loudly."
