During the summer months, the only after-dinner dessert that we want is ice cream. It just makes sense, you know? Kraft wanted to get in on the sweet by using its macaroni and cheese as inspiration. Yes, this is exactly what you think it is: Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Ice Cream.

To bring this vision to life, Kraft had to partner with a company that knows its flavors, which led it to the Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. The two came together — using a few ingredients, including cream, milk, cane sugar, egg yolks, and Kraft cheese, a PR rep confirmed to Best Products — to unveil the Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Ice Cream. Is it a typical flavor you’d find in the store? Absolutely not. Is it worth a try? How could you not?

The limited-edition ice cream will be available beginning at 11 a.m. ET on July 14, aka National Macaroni & Cheese Day. You can snag a pint online on Van Leeuwen’s website or at its stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and Houston for $12, while supplies last. Not sure if you want to commit to a pint? New Yorkers can try the ice cream for free while supplies last at an ice cream truck in Union Square from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on launch day.

“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with,” Emily Violett, senior associate brand manager for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, said in a press release. “As big fans of Van Leeuwen, we knew they’d be the perfect partner to create this ice cream with us. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s also made with high-quality ingredients and contains no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes just like our Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.”

Now let’s address the elephant in the room: At first thought, does the combination of macaroni and cheese and ice cream sound gross? Depending on who you are, maybe. But don’t even try to lie to us for a second that you wouldn’t try it if it were sitting right in front of you.
