Cold brew just got a lot more fun.

In a new collaboration with High Brew Coffee, New Belgium created a Nitro Cold Brew Cream Ale that is the perfect mix of flavors for the winter season. The cream ale is a part of New Belgium’s “Up Next” Rotator Series and is on shelves nationwide now.

The perfect partnership for coffee and beer lovers won’t be here for long, as the limited-edition drink will leave shelves in February 2020.

The spiked coffee beverage has 5 percent alcohol by volume and is infused with nitrogen, so the perfect pour is important, according to New Belgium.

Creators “infused a cream ale with oats and High Brew’s cold brew for a velvety mouthfeel and refreshing finish,” according to a New Belgium press release, which also boasts of the ale’s “roasty, sweet and smooth coffee, caramel and vanilla aroma.”

High Brew’s CMO Mari Lee is excited about the new partnership and believes it’s something the consumer has yet to see.

“New Belgium’s Nitro Cold Brew Cream Ale crafted with High Brew is not a hard coffee, but a smooth and refreshing beer infused directly with the cold brew. We’ve seen Hard Coffee’s and heavy beers like stouts done before, but the lighter cream ale allows for diverse enjoyment.”

Lee said the versatile beer pairs well with breakfast or brunch as well as “watching weekend football or after an activity to put back a little pep back in your step.”
