It's been a few days since Marc Jacobs showcased its Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear show in New York, and the chunky platform boots that dominated the runway are still the talk of the town.

Drawing inspiration from Jacobs' heroes, the collection cited the late Vivienne Westwood as its core influence, including a Westwood quote which read "Fashion is life-enhancing, and I think it's a lovely, generous thing to do for other people," in its show notes. DIY-inspired jackets and "tit tops" were paraded down the runway, paired with patchwork coats and quilted skirts, but it was the Westwood-inspired footwear that really left its mark.

Arriving in both knee-high and ankle styles, the exaggerated lace-up boots featured striking hues of green, pink and yellow, dressed down with a muted offering of black, khaki and white.
